Missed Opportunities
By Marie Roker
When one door of happiness closes, another opens;
but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see
the one which has been opened for us.-Helen Keller
Are you holding on to miss opportunities? Do you continue to focus
on what you should of, could of, and would have done? Encumbering
yourself with “what ifs” will not bring these opportunities back
to you. You shouldn’t covet missed opportunities, but embrace the
knowledge that you've gained in return.
If you’re constantly focusing on what you haven’t done, when will
you have time to embrace what lies ahead for you? When one
opportunity is missed, another one awaits you if you are looking
in the right place. Carrying around your dictionary of
disappointments will not help you to create the life that you
want. Don’t allow your past to stop your future. Look at these
experiences as a stepping stone to greater things in your life.
It’s time to start anew and start creating new opportunities for
yourself. Put to use what you learned and let go of what you think
you’ve missed. Have you ever thought that perhaps the opportunity
wasn't for you? What is meant for you will be given to you.
Yes, the decision to move forward and to welcome new opportunities
takes courage. If you don’t make the move, how will you know what
lies ahead for you? Something better does await you. You can not
claim it, if you are looking behind. Close the door on the past.
Keep your eyes set upon what’s to come. You’d be surprised at how
many interesting opportunities are awaiting you.
