At a home party, you've got a very captive audience. Are you
using the opportunity to the fullest?
Making the Most of Your Audience
Are you taking advantage of your captive
audience when you have your home party? At each party
you have you have the undivided attention of 5, 10 , 20
or more people. There is no advertising, marketing,
networking or phone calls that can replace having 20
people who are interested in your business listen to you
at once!
Think about this. Every one of those guests came to the
party ready to see and try YOUR products. Take advantage
of that. Remember everyone knows 200 people or more. So
while you may only be talking to 10 guests, you are
really reaching an audience of 2000!!!
2000 people! That is a lot of exposure for your
business. How many of those people have heard of your business?
How many of those people are looking for your products?
How many of those people want to start their own
business?
How many of those people know of a group that needs a
fundraiser?
How many of those people want a reason to get together
with their friends?
How many of those people would like FREE product?
Take advantage of this audience! Make sure you mention
the key aspects of your business at least 3 times. Once
during the intro, at least once during your presentation
and once at the end.
Are you doing this? NO? You should be! The two most
obvious places are at the beginning and end of your
presentation. During your intro say something like this.
1. At the Beginning...
After I introduce myself and a brief description of my
business, I start off by saying...
"Tonight we’ll be sampling 15 products from the
Megan’s Pantry product line. We’ll start off with
some Coconut Almond Delight & Three Cheese Potato
Soup and finish with the Peach Fruit Crisp I just put in
the oven. It will be ready in about 30 minutes. I’ll
also share with you how I can help you and your
organization earn up to 40% profit with our No risk
Fundraising line. Plus you’ll learn how you can start
your own Gourmet Food Business while working alongside
your family and full or part time job. And last, but not
least, I’ll show you how you can earn $25, $50, $100
or more in your choice of FREE PRODUCT. Let’s get
started."
There you have it. I just mentioned all of the key
aspects of my business in about 60 seconds. Think of it
as a 60 second commercial. Now you have got your guest
thinking. One of the guest may think "My
cheerleaders are looking for a new fundraiser, I wonder
what that is all about?" Another guest may think
"I've always wanted to start my own business, maybe
this is for me" You get the idea. It plants the
seeds, so when you mention it again, they'll be
listening.
2. During your Presentation - As you are presenting your
products, fill in gaps with 60 second commercials
After serving the Spinach dip (or any product in the
single serves) take 60 seconds to promote the Fundraiser
"This Spinach Dip is one of our Fundraising
Products. As a fundraising item they sell for $4.00 each
and the group earns $1.60 on each one sold. To put that
into real numbers, If you have a group of 25, that each
sells just 15 packets each, the group will raise $600!
Think about how many candy bars you have to sell to
raise that much money. We also offer 12 scented candles.
You’ll notice the Lovely Lilac has been burning on the
table since you arrived. These sell for $10 each and
groups earn $4 on each one sold. If a group of 25 people
sell just 5 candles each, that’s another $400! Between
these two fundraisers, that group of 25 raised $1000. If
you or someone you know may be interested in learning
more, just ask me. I have some information here
today."
After serving a product that everyone oohs and ahhs
about take 60 seconds to promote the hosting opportunity
"I can see you all like this product. Would your
friends enjoy this too? Would you like to get this
product for free? Consider hosting a gathering and you
will have a chance to get together with your friends
while earning some free product. I'll prepare all the
samples for you to try, all you have to do is invite the
guests. If this is something you or someone you know
would enjoy doing, ask me about being a host in
April"
About 2/3 of the way into the presentation, share your
story about the business opportunity. Here is my
story...
"I was introduce to Megan's Pantry about 2 years
ago, and I'll be honest, when I first heard about it I
had no interest. I had no interest in doing home
parties. In fact, I had never even been to a home party
before. After talking with some others, I decided to
give it a try and now 2 years later, I LOVE IT! It is
the best thing I have ever done. I am able to stay at
home during the day with my children and have the
flexibility of working around family events and
vacations.
While you'll need to work hard, the business is simple.
We provide you with all the tools you need to be
successful including personalized training, manuals,
script cards and more. If you've ever been considering a
business and can work 20 hours a month, yes I said a
month, I can show you how you can be successful just
like me.
Be sure to ask me for more information or pass my name
along to a friend. I love referrals!"
3. At the End...
After you thank you guests for coming and telling them
how to shop or order...have another 60 second commercial
and say
"Don't forget about all the opportunities my
business has to offer. If you or someone you know would
like to get together with your friends and earn some
free product or could use a new and exciting fundraiser
or would like more information about starting your own
gourmet food business, simply check off the box on your
order form or better yet, just ask me. I have
information here with me today."
There you have it! I mentioned all 3 key aspects of my
business in a no pressure environment at least 3 times
per event. I challenge you all to do the same. Mention
each important aspect of your business at least 3 times
during each party. You'll find your own style, but just
do it! I promise you that if you do, you will start to
see more results.
So advertise you business in front of your captive
audience and watch your business soar.
